Walk in Flower Shops: Stop and Smell the Roses

flower shop full of beautiful flowers

I love flower shops full of flowrs!

No matter where I am in the world when I see a retail flower establishment, I have to step in for a moment just to stop smell the roses. Yeah, yeah, I know that roses grown in green houses don’t really smell all that good, but it’s really not the roses. It’s the beautiful Oriental lilies. I can’t describe the smell it’s like a natural beautiful perfume that fills the air. I am always amazed just how beautiful flowers really can be, I have to say my all time favorite flowers are Casablanca Lilies and a flower that originated from Australia called Sandersonia.

To see a flower shop preparing for a giant flower selling holiday like Mother’s Day or Valentine’s Day, it gets me excited. How I long to be back in the flower business again, running my own shop, helping people send flowers to their friends and loved ones. There is no better feeling to know that my flowers brought a smile to someone today.

Another time of year I like walking into flower shops is Christmas time. I honestly believe that Christmas flowers, poinsettias and Christmas Greens really, really help people get into the spirit of the holidays.

So the next time you have a few moments on your hands and you see a lovely little flower shop, walk through their door, say hello and smell the roses, or the lilies.
