Save money on Flower orders?
Flowers delivered direct from the grower and delivered in a box? Or flowers that are designed by a florist and hand delivered to you. Let’s take a close look at this and you can decide for yourself.
Freshness of Flowers
Boxed: Boxed flowers are usually fresher so they ship better. Many times the flowers arrive very tight, but in the end you enjoy them longer.
Hand Delivered: Most of the time you flowers arrive fresh. But I would say, boxed flowers wins category.
Delivered on Time:
Boxed: They most always show up on time.
Hand delivered: They most always show up on time.
Beautifully arranged Flowers
Boxed: Usually, the flowers are not arranged; they are strapped down so they are protected flying all night in an airplane.
Hand Delivered: When using a real florist, a professional floral designer will hand make your flowers as to the specifications you spoke to the florist about when placing your order.
Equipment needed to start enjoying your flowers:
Hand Delivered: Nothing, just a place to set them down.
Boxed: Scissors, vase, water, large trash can, floral arranging skills and of course time.
So those are the basic differences of hand delivered flowers by a local florist and flowers that are delivered in a box by a truck driver. Now, let me say this, boxed flowers are almost all the time less expensive. And I have no issues with saving a few shekels now and then myself. But most people when they send flowers, they want to send the best impression, at least I do.
If you need to buy bulk flowers for a wedding or a school or something, then getting them from a grower or a company that works with growers is the way to go.
